The Big Finish

Based on a true story is not a good marketing ploy to utilize in every situation. The original set of friends seem very nice but clearly there is just not enough source material that warrants an entire movie made about them. Even the “actual footage” of the original companions playing tag throughout life came off as way to contrived. This is very disappointing considering this movie has an all-star line up who deliver really good animated performances. I am pretty sure they were all paid accordingly for their services but I am sure if it wasn’t for the check they would all have much better things to do with their time. It does not matter how ridiculous or inconceivable the premise can be as long as the film is humorous I am pretty much an easy sell. Unfortunately this picture offers very little laughs accompanied by uninspired dialogue. Even by my standards this takes a dark turn to a unnessecarry low which really lost me even when it tried to course correct later in the movie. The friendship aspect is very commendable but outside of that this is a game where nobody wins.
