Escape from island sequence

THE BIG FINISH

Out of the park and into the world, dinosaurs destroying the shit out of everything pretty much encapsulates the latest installment of the Jurassic franchise. A rarity the quality of this picture presumably diminishes as it progresses. The first act is riveting with heart stopping action providing dramatic twists. Once we get off the island however a generic antagonist and plot line really slow down the pace. The transition of reverting back to more of a horror vibe is actually refreshing. This picture almost starts to echo a Quiet Place with very little dialogue relying on over exaggerated facial expressions, mannerisms and an iconic score while characters trying to avoid monsters. This also seems like such a waste of the ultra dynamic Chris Pratt’s talents whose appeal is that he isn’t the over the top muscular looking movie star. He has a down to earth vibe and incredible charisma that is very relatable. Outside of the diner scene Pratt doesn’t have any witty zingers or memorable moments that he has become known for. I enjoyed how heroic Bryce Dallas Howard looked here but the rest of the characters seemed annoying and not well thought out. Fallen Kingdom is very eventful shifting gears enough to give viewers motion sickness but with the park no longer available seems very directionless.
