The Big Finish

Women attempting to obtain equal rights in the entertainment industry have been dominating news stories in Hollywood currently. With that being said a feature of this magnitude that showcases all female leads representing different ethnicities is a breakthrough. Any flaw this film may have it is very understandable to move the goal post because the performances by most notability Bullock and Hathaway are so incredible. Any project they touch is elevated from their mastery. The rest of the all female con artist crew is meaningful displaying great star power. Unfortunately the supporting characters are very opaque with no backgrounds or clear motivation. Seemingly every woman who is approached to join in the heist jumped on board no questions asked. There is a classic New York City flair about this picture with several big apple artists songs being echoed as well as an involvement around fashion in the mecca. Nothing will knock your socks off from the simplistic narrative but this fun joyride is ultimately effective. Stylish in nature, the latest from the Ocean’s franchise will definitely capture spectators and not loosen up on the grip.
